Colby

Colby (a staffie cross) arrived at Waggy Tails in September 2025. He came from the pound with no details having been found as a stray. His microchip revealed that he was born in June 2016 but despite contacting the details on his chip, no current owner could be found.

Colby had clearly been neglected for some time; he had severe alopecia almost over his entire back, a dreadful long standing ear infection and a large growth on his upper leg. Despite this, his nature towards all of us was affectionate and trusting from the moment we met him.

Since September of last year, Colby has had regular veterinary treatments for all his challenges. In fact, he has a huge vet history just with us! His ear infection was cleared, the lump was removed (and found to be benign), he has been neutered and his alopecia is improving. He still looks a little threadbare but loves a good back scratch.

Although Colby is up for adoption, we realise that currently at 10 years old, with the health issues he has had and that may recur, it may be that he remains with us here at Helen’s House. We would love him to have a home but also are happy to love him here.

Colby loves food, footballs, soft toys (some of which even survive), cuddles and his walks. He’s not great with other dogs and puts all his love efforts into people.
