Sally Long is running the London Marathon

Sally has been  a long time supporter of Waggy Tails and in 2025 she took on something she had never done before – running.  She has been training in earnest to get fit for April 26th 2026 when she will tackle the London Marathon.

Sally has set up a Just Giving page with her story on.  Please take time to read about her journey and help her fundraise.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Waggy Tails Rescue, so it’s the most efficient way to give – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

JustGiving sends your donation straight to Waggy Tails Rescue and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

CHRISTMAS PRESS RELEASE

The strain on animal rescues over the last two years has been unprecedented. All over the country rescues are full and sadly turning away many animals who need a space.    Our plans to expand the sanctuary at Little Lions Farm have been refused causing great sadness to us and our supporters, who had hoped to save many more animals. We will continue our work at Helen’s House in Magna Road and just hope that another property comes along which isn’t  under Dorset Council’s remit so our plans would be looked at more positively.

At Christmas more requests to take dogs come in than any other time of the year.   And this Christmas is no exception.    However, we are normally buoyed by the generosity of the public with gifts of food and treats for all those in our care – except sadly  this year there are only a few kind people ringing our door bell with donations.    A measure of the times maybe, when so many have little to spare.
